K9 Smelled 14 Grams Of Meth Outside Car In York County, Police Say

A K9 called to the scene of a traffic stop in York County sniffed out large amount of drugs, police announced on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

The Southern Regional Police K9 Unit was requested to assist Northern York County Regional Police Officers on a traffic stop on March 31, SRP stated in the release. K9 Ransom "was deployed for a free air sniff of the vehicle," police said.

Ransom "indicated to the odor of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. The vehicle was seized from the scene and a search was performed after a search warrant was granted."

The search yielded 14 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia, the police said.
